Now Crowdfunding: Two Tool Watches for Travelers

There is a bunch to unpack in that statement, but basically I decided to forego Indiegogo and instead crowdfund the parts for 2 new watches on my own, here:

Last time, Indiegogo didn’t release the funds to me until almost 5 weeks AFTER the crowdfunder closed, and then it had to clear my bank, and yadda yadda.  So I said screw it, let’s save some money, and we will do the same thing using my shopping cart and PayPal.  After doing two fundraisers and never having a return, I think I’m ready to take off the training wheels…

Introducing the 4 handed “Voyager”, with the new multi-functional “Double 12” GMT Bezel…

If you travel, this is a particularly cool watch.  It has everything it needs and nothing it doesn’t.  It features the new “T Style” bezel, which features the hour marker for a second time zone on top, and a countdown timer underneath on the bottom left, with an elapsed timer on the bottom right.

Moreover, instead of assuming you are a pilot, or are in the military, and marking the hours from 1 to 24, I marked it from 1-12 noon, then 12 to midnight.  Because when you are traveling, you dont want to do more calculations in your head to figure out what time 17 o’clock is, 6 time zones away, when you can just read the time off the bezel, like a normal person.

It’s the watch you didn’t realize you needed.  You are welcome.

…and this sleeper is the 3 handed NH35 with the 12 hour movement, called the “Vagabond Guide Watch”

This watch is VERY similar to the GMT in MOST ways, but it is not as flashy, and only has 3 hands.  It’s kind of a ‘poor man’s GMT’, or a backcountry guide’s watch.  It is using the same case set that all my ‘dive’ watches use, but you may get to choose a new bracelet for either watch pictured, by the time this is over…

Parts are being sold separately, again.

If you make your own watches – or you want to change  out parts in one of mine – you can buy both the dials and both inserts, individually.  In fact, the whole idea behind this latest push was to get to the point where we are now, where a guy can choose the parts he wants, to build a watch, that will do the job he needs it to do.

So if you want to swap bezel inserts (anyone can do this) or swap dials (not so easy but doable) then consider ordering your parts right now, because I expect these to be very limited runs and most will be reserved for watches.
